loving God

Consider for a moment the first and great commandment according to Jesus Christ.

Matthew 22:36-38
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.

Here are the Temple Baptist Church, we don't just simply acknowledge the first and great commandment, we prioritize it.  In other words, loving our God is not simply an aspect of our faith, it is the first goal in our lives and mission.

growing in Grace

Consider also, the nature of our growth according to the word of God.

2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

At Temple Baptist Church, we don't simply desire to maintain our present state. Rather, we desire to grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.  As we grow individually, our Church grows collectively.  Our Church exists that others may grow gracefully in their lives and in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

reaching Others

Finally, consider the final words of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
